What kind of Christmas trees does Altum’s sell? Fragrant Fraser Firs with long-lasting, bi-color needles that have soft silvery undersides.

Where do Altum’s Christmas trees come from? Dana hand picks them from a family farm in North Carolina.

But am I destroying the environment by buying a fresh-cut Christmas tree every year? No! Christmas trees are grown as a crop, just like corn or beans. These sustainable, small farms have been in families for generations.

Are new trees cut down to make wreaths, garlands, swags and other evergreen decorations? No. Trained arborists thin trees in targeted regions to keep them healthy. Clippings are put to good use in holiday arrangements and can be placed outside afterward for wildlife nesting and protection. They will decompose naturally.
