Did the blue berries convince you? Because they sure are beautiful. Viburnums are such a sweet surprise in the landscape, and Blue Muffin has added dimension with its namesake blue fruits in autumn. This is a tall, very low-maintenance viburnum, excellent in a grouping as a hedge or a foundation planting around your home, and its white spring blooms are quite pretty.

If you’re as smitten with the blue berries as we (and the birds) are, you’ll need a companion planted nearby for pollination. We recommend Chicago Lustre as its a widely available option. Plant yours in full to part sun. And if you like to prune your viburnum for shape, be sure to prune after winter berries are spent and not after flowers.
