The thing about native plants is that they’re always going to be easier to grow. Coneflowers, otherwise known as Echinacea, originated here as native prairie plants, and they are friendly and adaptable to almost any kind of garden or yard. These guys are at once tough and prickly-headed, full, shrubby and able to thrive in full sun, and graceful in their ability to bloom and rebloom in a rainbow of petal and center dome colors.
These are go-to perennials that won’t let you down or wear you out. They’re virtually maintenance free and bloom June through October.
