OUR SOUTHERN BELLE

The gardenia is like a deep southern accent to us: romantic and fascinating. The trees and shrubs grow as annuals in Indiana, and we love ours sitting pretty in containers on our patio and porch. Put yours near a walkway where you can appreciate its highly fragrant flowers.

Yours will love the heat, but not the strongest afternoon sun. We like to give ours morning light (north or east-facing) and regular moisture. Be sure to use a container with a drainage hole and/or place a layer of gravel or small stones in the bottom.
