THE MOTHER OF ALL SUCCULENTS
We fell for this succulent’s frilly, decorative edges, made more impressive by the fact that this mother manages to look good with hundreds of tiny plants hanging from her leaves. We feel you, Kalanchoe.
Turns out she reproduces by growing (adorable) mini versions of herself along her leaves, an attractive variation on seeds. One note: ironically, ‘Mother of Thousands’ is not a good choice for the nursery (or a home with pets who nibble on plants)–all parts of the plant are poisonous and can be fatal if ingested.
