THE SENSITIVE TYPE

Don’t let the name fool you, this plant is not high maintenance. Just sensitive to light, which means its charming fern-like leaves close as if it’s tucking itself in each night. The really great thing about this herb (yes, herb!) is it literally tells you if it’s not receiving enough light during the day (thank you, little man), and you can respond accordingly with a little brighter spot. It’s leaves will also close when touched, then reopen with a little time.

Yours will do best with at least eight hours of full sun each day and consistent moisture, without getting soggy or sitting in water. Insider tip: keep yours away from open doors and windows or outdoor screen porches if the weather dips below 65 degrees or its leaves and stems will turn yellow.
