Saying ‘Gillyflower’ is almost as much fun as planting with these cool-weather annuals. The name ‘Stock’ seems to imply something basic and these are anything but. For starters, Stock blooms sequentially, like a snapdragon and has a spicy-sweet scent. In our Indiana growing zone, Stock is an annual that doesn’t love heat, so plant early and lean towards shade.

We love planting Stock in porch pots because it’s one of the few flowering options with height.
